The People's Republic of China is the third largest country in the world with the largest number of citizens.As a developing country,it offers a wide selection of prestigious and reputable universities for international students. In recent years,more and more foreigner students come to China after graduation from high schools to learn Chinese or get bachelor,master and doctoral degrees in different subjects.Students always ask:”Which university should I study in?”We rarely give them certain answers because we always take it as a necessary thing depends on financial condition，self interests and some other consideration.So,we list some important things below that you should think about before you come to study in China.

1.What is your budget for studying in China?

Your budget should contain the fees of application,travel,accommodation and tuition.It should be the first thing you take into account before you make any choice.

If you have a large budget and a strong wish for a comfortable life ,you can choose those private universities for they have less students and luxurious living conditions.And most important,they’re more easier to entry than public universities.

Limited money?Better choose a university run by the Chinese government because they charge less and can provide you a nice academic professional learning atmosphere.Most universities in China offers various kinds of scholarships for international students,if you can be awarded a scholarship,that’s wonderful for it will be a great help to reduce your economic burden.

2.How long do you plan to study in China?

A bachelor degree program usually takes four years,a master degree program takes at least two years and so does doctoral degree.Students who want to learn Chinese language or Chinese culture with small budget can choose summer or winter camp.Shorter study time makes the costs lower.If you don’t have a money problem and want to learn more about Chinese language and culture like calligraphy,cooking and Chinese Kung fu,there are also some long-term programs to choose from.Private schools and tutors are more flexible.

3.What kind of accommodation do you want while studying in China?

Accommodation is one thing you should always consider.Want a suite,a single room or just a normal dorm?A suite is much more expensive but the facilities are really complete and advanced,you don’t even have to share them with others.A single room is a common choice for most international students.But there are also some students want a Chinese roommate to share the expense and improve their Chinese quickly.University dorms are often easiest, but not good value for money.  You’ll have to use the public toilet,kitchen and bathroom. Homestay is also a choice but can be hard to arrange and often don't work out.
